Purpose of This Mini-Edition
This sample of documents and
annotations from The Papers of Dwight David Eisenhower demonstrates the
possibilities involved in the publication of scholarly historical editions over
the Internet. It is our belief that the documents as conveyed through this
medium will reach a wider and more diverse audience than is now the case through
traditional letterpress publication. We also hope that this new and expanded
readership will find some way of informing those who will be responsible for the
eventual publication of all the documents of their requirements and desires, so
that the next incarnation of our work will be accessible in an efficient and
graceful manner.
